Sadly, my list of current goals have sat neglected for a while now. Thankfully, my developing love of workout gear ties in quite nicely with my latest to-dos.
After a mind-blowing culinary experience yesterday, I riffled through the sales racks at the sports store and found a couple of gems for cheap (accountant, remember?)
First up is the adidas ‘response fitted tank’ in black and white (click the picture for a link to the adidas store). In size 12 (US 10). Size 12, people. 12!
I don’t usually get brand-name running gear (because I’m cheap) but I think this tank has converted me. I took advantage of the sun this morning and went for a jog, wearing this tank, and it was great.
The tank is fitted to sit right in all the necessary places. The length is just right, and the signature adidas stripes sit on the hips. No worrying about t-shirts riding up, or bunching.
And – bonus points – the fabric is supportive enough that the food baby from yesterday wasn’t immediately obvious!
The second item I nabbed at a bargain price was this New Balance ‘mesh fitness jacket’ (again, the photo’s linked to the New Balance online store).
It was love at first sight (if that’s possible with fitness gear).
I was looking for something I could wear to take the chill off when walking home from work in the winter evenings, or to just keep me warm to and from the gym.
This ticks all those boxes, and is stylish, too. It’s plain black (see a theme here?), but it has blocks of mesh fabric which has a very feminine wave pattern to it. And it fits perfectly (another size 12!)
Brand names have certainly pulled through this time – but are they usually this successful?
What are some of your favourite brands for running/workout gear? I know a lot of you out there adore Lululemon and have recommended it in the comments a number of times (sadly I’ve yet to build the confidence in my ability to splurge that much on gear). Are there any other brands (or even just styles of clothing) that you love just as much?
