125g melted butter
250g crushed wine biscuits
200g condensed milk
1tbs cocoa
1/2 cup coconut (optional)
Chocolate chips (optional)
Chopped nuts (optional)
Sultanas (optional)
Vanilla extract

Instructions

1) Mix the cocoa, extract and condensed milk into the melted butter until everything is well mixed.

2) Add the crushed biscuits and other ingredients, folding the mixture until all the dry ingredients are incorporated in the butter mixture.

This stuff is really adaptable and the recipe can be changed depending on what you have in your pantry. In this batch I added chocolate buttons, sultanas and chopped nuts. I didn’t have any coconut, but if I did I probably would have cut out the nuts and chocolate. Making it without the optional extras is good, too, though obviously not as “bulky”.

I rock this recipe whenever I need to make something to share because it really is a no-fail recipe that still gets heaps of compliments. I made a batch for my 21st birthday party and a friend of mine ate almost the whole batch because it’s just that good! So if you’re watching what you’re eating, you might just want to stay well away…

If you try this recipe, please let me know how it goes in the comments – I’d love to hear what ‘optional extras’ you add into the mix!

    • They’re a simple, sweet biscuit that traditionally are for eating with wine.

In terms of the recipe, any “plain” biscuit (i.e. without any strong taste of its own, like a malt biscuit) should work. The biscuits we have here grind up quite small, almost powder-y, which is ideal but bigger chunks aren’t the end of the world :)
