Jello Walking Sucess

Success! Another goal down – I lasted 5 solid minutes on the rowing machine and was able to walk in a straight line afterwards. But I looked far wilder, and red-er, than the lovely model above. Don’t feign surprise, it’s really not necessary, haha.

That is how I spent my Friday night after work… At the gym. I have changed. Nay, I am changing.

Getting off the rowing machine to get the wipe-down cleaner, I felt like I was walking on jelly. But I couldn’t help but feel good. Even the jelly legs felt great.

For a long time, I thought I’d never get there. Five minutes is a long time when you start crying out for water 30 seconds in. 5 minutes. That’s 10 times as long as I could do a month ago. 1000%.

If this was a pay rise I’d be able to get nicer gym gear.

Now that I’ve got to 5 minutes, I’ve got to keep it up. Get faster, go longer, increase the resistance. But all in good time.

While at the gym I set the wheels in motion for another goal, too - personal training session booked in for Monday the 11th June. Yes, it’s a little over a week away but with my schedule and the limited times for the free sessions available it’s a miracle anything was booked at all!

  1. Congratulations on hitting another goal!! I know that feels awesome :)

Can’t wait to hear how the personal training session goes, I’m so tempted to schedule one myself but all I can think about is them yelling at me to stop being such a pansy and me subsequently crying like a baby afterwards lol. Maybe your experience will inspire me to pick up the phone and try it at least!

I do have a question, would you prefer a male or female personal trainer? I’ve been idly considering which I’d prefer or if I really have a preference at all.

    • Thanks for the encouragement, I’ll definitely be letting everyone know how it goes.

In the past I’ve had training sessions with both men and women. Currently, I’m with a womens only gym, so they only have female trainers on staff. But of all the sessions I’ve ever had (all a while ago now), I found the male trainer was a better fit for me – there were less comparisons being drawn I guess? Not too sure now that I think about it…!

  2. I totally get what you mean! I have a love/hate relationship with the rower, in that I love to hate it. Conquering an exercise you hate is one of the best things about getting fitter. Thank you for a great post and for re-motivating me to get out there and conquer things I hate (a.k.a lunges!).
